Amy Sweetman

My name is Amy, I am a fully qualified psychotherapist and counsellor, holding an honours degree in Counselling & Psychotherapy. As am a member of the Irish Association for Counselling and Psychotherapy (IACP), I work in accordance and adhere to their professional code of ethics which supports high professional standards. I have experience working with an array of issues, including, but not confined to depression, anxiety, family & work difficulties, relationships issues, stress, low self-esteem, co-dependency, life transitions, sexual abuse, childhood trauma, loss & grief, bereavement and the highly sensitive person.

I offer a warm confidential safe space, where clients can explore all areas of their life, past and present. I work from a client-led approach, with a particular emphasis on how our early beginnings can impact our current lives and relationships. By exploring early experiences, a client can reach deeper insight into how their past is currently impacting their present life. Such explorations allow a client greater self-awareness and deeper self-acceptance; while enhancing relationships with the self and others, from a new position of increased personal insight, self-understanding and self-compassion.
